Hey El Moochadors! I’m going to ramble on for a little bit here, because I’m in that kind of mood right now. It looks like our stats are growing, and the number of visitors keeps increasing. I’m very glad to see that. Normally on Wednesday nights I do a Cool Star Wars Stuff of the Week post, but I’ve decided to start doing those on the weekend. My time is limited on weeknights, and there’s a ton of project ideas I’d like to work on. Also I might have more time to put into the Star Wars posts during the weekend, and do a better job.
I would like to start doing more original posts on the weekend as well. There’s post that my brother and myself call “Regurges” (short for “regurgitations”), and basically those are post about things that are get passed around on every other geek blog (every one keeps regurgitating the same content… like the Pirates of the Caribbean trailer). It’s stuff that I’m still interested in, and want to share or “geek-out” about, but it still comes from other sources. Again, I don’t have a lot of time during the work week, so I rely on the rss feeder, facebook, and other sources for interesting stuff to share. So on the weekend we’re going to try (quote Yoda to me and I’ll deck’ya) and do more original posts (reviews, WoW ponderings, lists, awesome cosplay, etc…). Maybe someday I’ll be able to make a living through my own doings, quit my day job, and focus more on Atomic Moo, but that won’t be anytime soon.
I don’t have a problem admitting that Atomic Moo is really more of a creative outlet for my brother and myself. That’s why we create the wallpapers and backgrounds, and hopefully soon some other projects we have in mind. This past week I’ve been working on a promotional sticker for the site. Lately I’ve been going to a lot of meet-ups (check out Meetup.com if you haven’t already), and it’s come up several times that I blog as a hobby. From now on, whenever I tell people about Atomic Moo, I would like to hand them something so they’ll remember the name of the site (like a business card, but cooler). The image above is the front of the sticker, and below is what I came up for the back to let them know what the site is about. I’ve still got some tweeking to do, but it’s getting there. Maybe next week I’ll see about getting some printed out (or at least the cost of printing).
Well, I think I’ve been rambling on enough, and I need to get some sleep. I’m starting to enjoy blogging a lot more than I thought I would, so I’m hoping the best for this site. I guess we’ll just continue to work hard and see how things go.
