Nerdfighters

Chris sent this to us yesterday, and I wanted to post about it this morning, but I got caught up with work stuff. Unfortunately I haven’t had time to go over all this, except to watch the video, and a brief overview of ProjectforAwesome.com and Nerdfighters.ning.com. From what I got out of this video, the Nerdfighters helped a school in Bangladesh afford new uniforms, school supplies, and even some sporting equipment. It was pretty awesome to watch this, and I feel there’s definitely a need for more of this kind of action in the world. I liked the end of the video when all the students started giving the Vulcan peace sign (Okay, I’m not that big of a Trekkie, so I’m not sure what it’s actually called). If I understand this right, and please correct me if I’m wrong, Project for Awesome takes one day out of the year (December 17th) to get everyone on YouTube to ask for support for their favorite charities. I really want to learn more about both these groups, but today’s been kind of a mess, and I’ve only been able to get a quick glance at each site for only a few minutes. Check it out the video below, and go to their sites. Maybe it’s something you’ll want to get involved with.
