Atomic-Moo-Sticker-Front

It’s almost 2:30 and my brain is feeling a little fried right now. Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but the holidays have kind of gotten in the way. Like today I drove out to Hemet to spend time with family. I had to decline a puppy while I was out there. My older brother has about 7 or so new-born purebred beagle pups, and offered one to me (he sells them for… I think he said $400.00 a pup, so that’s a generous gift). Unfortunately I had to turn him down; there’s a “no pets” policy where I live (was that the right usage of a semicolon there? Fuck it, I’m leaving it in!). You know your life sucks when you have to decline a puppy… and you’re not sure how to use a semicolon (gimmie a break, I was an Art major, not English).

I was hoping to put together a decent print portfolio this weekend, but can’t seem to get around to doing it. Even with a busted printer, I could still do all the layout work and get it ready for print. The problem is, as much as I dislike the current job that I’m in, the thought of having to go out and look for a new one makes my stomach churn. I hate job hunting. I don’t want to go into a long rant here, except on one thing and it’s that I don’t know if I want another boss. This might sound naive and childish, but I’m getting sick of working for people, and always having them hold a paycheck over my head. Also, I don’t like the idea of busting my ass to make their dreams come true, and their business a success. I want my own thing. I want to have my own business, or studio, and have my own clients and projects. Of course I’m in a situation right now where I have ZERO cash, and no clients to start my own studio. The only plan I have right now is to save what I can, and keep trying things like iStock, and Atomic Moo (though, this is actually costing me money… those google ads are worthless, so I’m going to need to figure something else out if I want to keep this going), and hope they might lead to something.

Sorry for the rant there. I guess where I was going with all that was, instead of working on my print portfolio this weekend, I ended up making a bunch of wallpapers for Atomic Moo. So far, I’ve only upload five sets, but there’s a lot more. I was playing around with a stenciled/ graffiti look of different Geek icons, and the Atomic Moo logo. The main “cement” background is the same in all of them, just the center icons are different. Here’s an example of one I just finished uploading.

Like I said, I made a bunch more (Imperial Insignia, Atari Logo, Green Lantern Symbol, OCP Logo, and Thulsa Doom’s Crest are a few of the ones I put together), and I hope to finish uploading them tomorrow. Trog’s been helping me out on some of the vectoring, so maybe we can get a few more done before the weekend is over. I’m always looking for feedback on these, so let me know what you think. If you have any ideas for any other “Geek” icons you’d like to see worked up, please let us know. Well, I’m going to try and get some sleep now, so good night (or morning…) for now.
