Kermit The Frog is 56 Years Old

Holy hopp’n horny toads people! Today is the 56th birthday of entertainment legend, Kermit the Frog. Kermit, created by Jim Henson, was first seen in 1955 on the Sam and Friends television show where he was a sort of “frog-ish” puppet. The little green muppet has since gone on to perform on several television, animation, and movie releases and even had a hit song in 1979 with The Rainbow Connection.

Okay, I know Kermit is really just a piece of cloth with some dudes hand crammed up its backside, but as a child I loved the Muppet Show and continue to love it now that I’m an adult. So, in my own arrested development like haze, I’m actually really stoked to be blogging about this and having a chance to go back and watch some great Kermit moments that I haven’t seen for many, many, years. In honor of Kermits 56th B-day, I’ve added a few Youtube videos of Kermit and the Muppet Show below.

Enjoy.

You know, I always thought the the best ones had Alice Cooper in them.

Nah, for me it was when Luke, R2, and 3P0 all came on the show. I was all about the Star Wars as a kid.
