I am really doing horrible this morning. I didn’t hear my alarm clock go off (I’ve been trying ear plugs again), and didn’t wake up until 9:30. I thought I went to bed at a reasonable hour last night… not sure why I slept in so late. And I had a lot of stuff I wanted to do today to. I was going to get up. study some, do the Morning Regurge, then start sending out my resume and portfolio samples to anyone who’ll look at them. Now I just want to go lay down on the couch and finish watching Galaxy of Terror (hey, try to find a better giant space slug rape scene…).
Anyways… I came across this youtube video last night (via Blastr.com) where an economist, Nobel Prize winner Paul Krugman, puts out the idea that a fake alien invasion could save our economy. Check it out:
I’m for it, except I say why pretend? Let’s go for the real thing and see how we stack up to our extraterrestrial neighbors out there. Let’s start using SETI to find some contenders, and when we do we’ll give’em our best intergalactic “fuck you” that we can. Best case scenario: We all pull together, all of our efforts go into the war movement, we triumph and we get some nifty alien tech. Worse case: we end up on the galactic slave trade market, being shipped off to mine minerals from an asteroid. I dunno, let me know what you guys think.
Well, that’s all I got for this morning… well, actually there’s a lot more, but I really do have a ton of stuff to do, so you’ll just have to live with this. Later.
