Evening Moo: 35 Years of Star Wars, Awesome Geek Art, and The Prometheus

Star Wars Infographic

Hey El Moochadors. I hope things are going well for you all tonight. My brother Trog informed me earlier that Star Wars recently turned 35 (it was released May 25th, 1977), and we spent sometime talking about it. So, while going through my reader and other sources, I tried to find a few neat things that are Star Wars related. One of those being this nifty infographic (above) put together by Newsarama.com (found it via Geektyrant.com). I’m kind of in the mood to watch the trilogy now. I’ll have to pop in Episode IV after I’m done with this post.

There is good in Him by Pianzin

I came across this one on dbsw.net (Distracted by Star Wars). It’s by Russian illustrator, and DeviantArt member, Pianzin (sorry, I have no idea what his real name is). Definitely an awesome illustration, and a great piece of graphic design.

Revenge of the Sand People

And this one I found on Geek-art.net, and it was created by Sublevel Studios and Mark Steele. I really love this one because of its retro horror movie vibe. Pretty neat!

A couple more things below…

X-Men Lineup by American NinjaX

Alright, stepping away from Star Wars, here’s a nifty piece of geek art I spotted on… well, I can’t remember now. Anyhow, it’s by DeviantArt member AmericanNinjaX (Matthew Humphreys ). I really like the Disney-like style of the X-Men characters. Where’s Psylocke? Check out the rest of his gallery for more kick ass work.

New Prometheus Featurette

Here’s an awesome featurette for Prometheus, this time featuring the ship… Prometheus. Anyhow, check it out below and enjoy!

  1. Star Wars the Old Republic, sometimes abbreviated as SWTOR, was just released on December 20th, 2011. The game has already amassed over 1 million subscribed players officially making it the fastest growing MMO game ever. Many players are saying that the game is basically World of Warcraft with a Star Wars theme. But what really makes this game so entertaining and why is it being taken so well by the PC gaming community?
