It’s my day off!!! Which means I get to all the great Atomic Moo stuff I love to do like… Tell you about this amazing Darth Vader and the Ghost Prison trailer from Dark Horse comics! I didn’t know they did animated trailers for graphic novels, but after having watched this, and especially after having collected all Five issues of Darth Vader and the Ghost Prison, I’m glad to be sharing it with you! For me, Dark Horse Comics version of the expanded universe, is by far the best bit of Star Wars since The Empire Strikes Back and Ghost Prison is no exception. Brilliantly written by Haden Blackman and wonderfully illustrated by Agustin Alessio, Ghost Prison takes us back to a time before A New Hope when Palpatine’s Empire is still being established. Here’s the synopsis:

A traitorous uprising against the fledgling Galactic Empire leaves Emperor Palpatine close to death. Saving the Emperor—and the Empire—appears to be a lost cause . . . unless Vader can uncover the secrets of the Jedi Council and locate the mysterious “Ghost Prison.”

I love that all five issues of Darth Vader and the Ghost Prison are now going to be in a hardcover graphic novel. Now, if only we could get Dark Horse to expand on this promo and make a feature length animation in this style. Why not!? We can start the petition for it in the comments section of this post and I’ll be the tenacious (pissy?) nerd that keeps waving it in Dark Horses face until they get it made! We can do it! Who’s with me!?!
