This summer Dreamworks Animation will be releasing How to Train Your Dragon 2, but you don’t have to wait until summer to stand in long lines, pay a vast (VAST!) amount of money for uncomfortable (sticky) seats, then stare at a brilliantly illuminated room full of active smart phones – to get your fill of dragon goodness! No (I say), you can get your Dragon’s in the form of good clean American comic books like the ones being put on shelves by the good folks at Titan Comics! We (the royal we) took a look at vol. 1, Dragon Down, illustrated by Iwan Nazif and written by Simon Furman, and it’s not bad. The comic is aimed at the films younger audiences, and centers around the Dragon Hookfang separation from his young rider, Snotlout. This series of comics would be an excellent chance to introduce young readers to comic books for parents who are a little geeky. Below I’ve posted some sample images from volume one along with a the official trailer for this summers sequel.
