Not News from Not News Guys.

Good morning El Moochadores! Yeah, it’s that one day of the year where all of us single guys are made to feel like shit. Thanks Hallmark. However; today also means that it has been 7 years since I moved to San Diego! Very cool.

Anyways folks, today it’s all about the Kickstarters! I’ve got three kickstarter projects here that look pretty damn neat, and we hope you’ll go check ’em out and lend them your support.

Studio Cosplay: A Makerspace by Cosplayers for Cosplayers

Studio Cosplay is a (or will be) a Washington DC based, non-profit, center for cosplayers to come and make costumes. Their goal is to raise enough funding to support the studio for one year, which will provide space, materials, and classes to help people make their best costumes. According to their Kickstarter page:

A community space like this is needed because creating a costume in a confined space is frustrating. It can smother your creativity and cause you to make mistakes or force you to cope with taking out an elaborate element of your costume or prop because you just don’t have the resources to bring your imagination to life. In DC, like most metropolitan areas, space is at a premium. Most people don’t have the luxury of garages or workshops in their homes.

As of today there is 29 days left to donate, and they have a goal of $24,000.00. Check out their video below for more information and hit the links above to learn about rewards for donating.

Shadowrun: Hong Kong

Did I ever tell you guys how much I enjoyed playing Shadowrun: Returns. Well, I probably did, and I do. It’s a great game and the makers, Hairbrained Schemes, are back with a 3rd edition: Shadowrun: Hong Kong. Fortunately, this one is fully funded and then some. The HBS team was asking for a mere $100,000 (bah!) but, because of their amazing work on the previous games, they’ve reached over $975,000 in funding (as of this post)! Wow. However, there’s still time to contribute and get some pretty damn cool rewards to boot, but there’s only 3 days left. So, hop to it!

HONG KONG. A stable and prosperous port of call in a sea of chaos, warfare, and political turmoil. The Hong Kong Free Enterprise Zone is a land of contradictions – it is one of the most successful centers of business in the Sixth World, and home to one of the world’s most dangerous sprawl sites. A land of bright lights, gleaming towers, and restless spirits where life is cheap and everything is for sale.

The lure of a quick payday draws you from Seattle into the neon glow of Victoria Harbor… and into a corporate conspiracy nearly thirty years in the making. A terrifying threat looms on the horizon – a supernatural force that corrupts and consumes everything it touches. Dragged into the shadows of Kowloon City, you will need to forge new connections and gain “face” to survive.

Windwalkers, the game

Finally, we got a new game from Forge Animation based on a French science fiction novel, La Horde du Contrevent. Though they’ve produced (or are producing) a film and graphic novel based on the story, this kickstarter, Windwalkers, is an action RPG with single and multi-player co-op modes. The project has incorporated the talents of many professional artists, composers, and game designers, and has also recently been added to Steam Greenlight.

In a world shaped by perpetual winds, an elite group battle nature’s fury. You will become a WINDWALKER and a member of “The Horde” who are struggling to get to the Upper-Reaches and the legendary source of the winds.

The universe of WINDWALKERS is unlike anything seen before. The keyword is dynamism. It is a world created by the wind, where tornadoes, erosion, and storms are not calamities, but are a part of everyday life. A world in constant movement, which also means there is an ever present risk of losing your way. Your guide to get through this world is the wind, the very thing that could also kill you. Following the wind is the only path to your ultimate goal.

As of today there is 19 days left to contribute and they’re seeking a goal of $330,000.00. Hit the links above for more information about the game, its crew, and rewards for contributing!
