The Atomic Moocast #118!

The Doubleclicks Interview!

The Doubleclicks people! The Doubleclicks were on our show! This show! Finally! And I think we impressed them. Well, probably not, but the geek folk-duo singing sisters (Angela and Aubrey Webber)banana-768x503 are on this latest episode of the Atomic Moocast, and we’re now better people for it. The ladies (I had to learn that one) are currently on a summer tour and early last June we recorded an interview with them to discuss the tour, new songs, being creative, and how not to kill your sibling. Turns out they are really good at that. Anyways, it was extremely cool of them to be on our sputtering little podcast and we’re now even bigger fans of theirs!

Also, we’re really sick on this podcast. One of the reasons (usually its just my laziness) this podcast is later than normal is that both Jason and I got taken down by some alien cold/flu combo. It kicked the hell out of us, but we persevered and produced the podcast all the same. Still, please excuse all the coughs and snorts at the intro portion of the show.

So here we go folks! This Moocast is a fresh steaming pile of podcasting excellence just ready to be poured down your ear holes! Now would be the time to go grab a fizzy soda, some salty snacks, and a comfy chair. Then just settle in and let us dominate your brain for a little less than an hour. We’ll try not to muss it up too much…

Goldtiger: The Poseidon Complex

Best Comic Strip That Never Happened!

An Atomic Moo Book Review!

Okay El Moochadores, we’re back from Power-Con 2016 and now we need get this blog rolling again! Wait, do blogs roll? eh… what ever.

A couple of weeks back I received a copy of Goldtiger, and (without a doubt) this is one of the most interesting books I’ve ever read. Written by Guy Adams and illustrated by Jimmy Broxton, Goldtiger chronicles the history of a fictional comic strip (most popular in Malta!) about swinging 60’s fashion designers turned secret agent adventurers! The strip features (featured?) Lily Gold and Jack Tiger, homosexual Londoners who’s adventures take them up against a yacht stealing monster in their debut story line: the Poseidon Complex.gt3-600x8721

If they had just done a whole comic strip like this, that alone would have been incredible, but in, out, and surrounding the strips, is this wonderful story of the comics creators, Louis Schaeffer and Antonio Barreti. They don’t get along. Their sometimes contentious relationship (often explained through letters, interviews, and even sketches) results in some incredible humor which, at one point, leads to Barreti referring to Schaeffer as a “cross-eyed pedarast.” From there, Barreti only ever refers to Schaeffer as “writer” and only occasionally uses his submitted scripts.

Goldtiger is one of those books you’re going to go back to for its wonderful art, humor, design, and sheer creativity. It is very easy to get lost in this book and forget that Barreti and Schaeffer never existed. I think a lot of credit goes to Adams and Broxton for crafting a unique way to tell a story, which they pulled off wonderfully! They created this really unique reality that is somehow believable. Readers and comic fans will both want this book in their collections!

I’ve posted a few images from an online search below (I really need a new scanner!), but hit the links above to get you’re own copy! Also, listen to our interview with Adams and Broxton on Atomic Moocast #50! A long time ago…

Drawing a Female Face

Via Deviant Art: Check out this great drawing tutorial from illustrator Loish. She does a great job of demonstrating a step by step process for drawing a female face. I think she used Autodesk Sketchbook Pro but, the techniques she demonstrates should be easily transferable to whatever digital illustrating program you prefer. Check out the tutorial and also hit the link above to see more of her work!

Acrobatica Infiniti Circus!

Via Fashionably Geek: I’m sorry, but I hate these people. I hate ’em because I can’t even get up out of a chair with out groaning and creaking. Yet, this nimble acrobats can spin on ropes, twist their bodies in half, and do all sorts of amazing stuff. Also, they get to wear spandex. So, yeah, I’m jealous. Anyways, check out Acrobatica Infiniti Circus preforming all sorts of amazing acrobatics as various DC and Marvel super heroes (and villains). More information about the group, and upcoming events, can be found on their website.

Some What Current News from Not News Guys…

Good morning El Moochadores! I just woke up and I’m still feeling a little groggy. Actually, waking up was probably the worst mistake I could have made today, so maybe things will be all right! Anyways…

New AFT Shirt!

That’s right. You come on to our podcast, and we’ll promote your stuff for ever. So, check out ATF’s (Action Figure Therapy) new t-shirt, Jungle “Typhoon Of Excellence”! The shirt sports a cool illustration and sales for a meager 18.99. By buying the shirt you’re helping support a great website and youtube channel.

Blizzard Gives Orc Statue to Ten Year Players!

Via; If you’ve played World of Warcraft since its launch in 2004, then you’re probably going to be receiving this very cool Orc statue! You’ve also probably spent a little over 1800.00 on a video game, which may have done better in a money market account (or IRA), but then you wouldn’t have the azure proto drake, or Amani battle bear… Tough call. So, anywhat, Blizzard is still celebrating their ten years of existence, and as part of the celebration they are sending the statue to any player who has had a World of Warcraft account since November, 2004 (US), with the stipulation that you still have to be a subscriber. According to the article, this statue is a miniature version of the large statue at the Blizzard headquarters in Irvine California. Which, I can verify, because I’ve seen the real one, and it’s awesome! Sorry, I had to put that in there. Still, “gratz” to Blizzard, and it’s loyal players.

“Weird Al” Yankovic – The Mandatory World Tour

Via Laughing Squid: Weird Al Yankovic has a new world tour! Dates have just been announced and Yankovic will be touring all through the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia and New Zealand. Check out the video below, and link above, for more information!

Some What Current News from Not News Guys…

Good Morning El Moochadores! One of the things I use to hate about doing the Morning Moo was that on busy work days it was often the only post I could get done for the site. So all I would see at the end of a work week is a long line of “Morning Moo’s” on the blog.

Warmest Year On Record!

Ye Gods, but I fucking love science. I also love the site Spell it out for your self folks… Anyways, this report isn’t so much creative as it is geeky, but check out this report from NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies that show’s 2014 was the hottest year since record keeping began in 1880. Very interesting, and worth a listen while you idle your car in bumper to bumper traffic while go to work this morning, you Earth murdering maniac!

Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen Won’t Return For X-Men: Apocalypse!

Via Rolling Stone; It looks like we won’t be getting to see the older, wiser, better looking (they probably think so), versions of Professor X and Magneto in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse. According to the article on, Patrick Steward was on Larry King Now and said,

I was learning quite a lot more about it last night, and it is going to be looking very much at the earlier lives of all our characters. And so I don’t think we’ll be making an appearance – Nor Sir Ian McKellen, either.

ATROPA: Awesome Sci-fi Short!

Finally, check out this great short film by Eli Sasich called Atropa! The short film was written by Clay Tolbert and stars Anthony Bonaventura, Jeannie Bolet, David M. Edelstien, Ben Kliewer, and Chris Voss. It’s the futuristic story of “An Off-World Detective investigates the missing research vessel ATROPA.”

Okay folks, I’m off to earn my minimum wage! Keep coming back to the blog for more great geek creativity! Have a good one!

The Blue Dart!

An Original Serial Podcast!

Okay El Moochadores, after a week of being sick I think I’m starting to feel better. I’m at least coughing up less goo, which is a positive sign. Anyways, I’m way behind on posts, and Moocasts, so it’s time to get back to work! Starting with…

The Blue Dart!!!

Now, most of us have learned what a “blue dart” is by the age of twelve, and a lucky few of us have the scars to remember it by… However; the imaginative minds over at Creator’s Edge Press have spun this all ages prank (we learn at twelve, but the fun lasts a life time) into an epic online radio drama! Check out this very funny, and well produced, audio serial podcast about a super powered alien who, after crash landing on Earth, becomes the champion of Bigg City! Now on planet Earth, the Blue Dart teams up with local drunk, Wendell Stokes, and starts punishing Bigg’s City’s evil doers! Keen.

bd_ep3_cover_web (1)

The show follows the same style of the early radio dramas of the 1930’s and ’40’s, but with more fart jokes… It’s actually a lot of fun, and there’s real quality in the production value and writing of the show. Troy Lund does an excellent job voicing the Blue Dart, along with excellent narration by creator Steve Hill. Currently there are six episodes that can be found on, but for some reason only half of each episode would play. That could just be a problem with my player, or computer, but full episodes can also be found on iTunes, just search “Blue Dart.” The series is produced by Creator’s Edge Press, and written by Travis Bundy and Steve Hill. Check out the Creator’s Edge Press website for more information about the show. You can also check out the first episode here!

The Morning Moo!

Good morning El Moochadores! I’m just about to run out the door for work, but before I leave I wanted to post about some of the cool things floating around the web this morning! Time’s short, so let’s just jump in with…

Girl Piants Arm Cast Like Iron Man Guantlet

Via Geekologie: Okay so a girl on Reddit post some pics of her friends broken hand and her very nicely modified cast. I scanned both post for info on this brilliant young lady with the wounded paw, but no such luck yet. Still, check out a couple of images of her Iron Man styled cast! Excellent work mystery girl, we hope your arm heals quick… well not too quick, that does look really cool!

Family Guy/ Game of Thrones Mash Up!

Via Geeks are Sexy: Artist Eric La Sorda illustrated these very funny family Guy and Game of Thrones Mash-ups. Why couldn’t Meg just be Arya Stark? Do we always have to be so mean to Meg?

Epic Chick Fight (Live Action Chicken Fight)

Stunt women Jessie Graff and Tree O’Toole perform an amazing reenactment of one of my favorite moments from Family Guy!

Star Wars Speed Dating

Why does the whole “geek week” thing bug me? I don’t know why, but it just makes me itch a little and the words “Fuck Off YouTube” are on the tip of my tongue. Is it the 30 seconds of ads prior to each video? Like I don’t know, but they did make this Star Wars Speed Date video which features the brutal murder of Jar Jar Binks and I’m always cool with that… but still, the whole “geek week” just bugs the shit out me and I can’t express why. Maddening.

Okay fellers and fellettes, that’s all for this Morning Moo. Chudd will have some post a little later, but I’m off to earn a minimum wage! Off, off and away!

Have a great day!
