Hendo’s How-To: Cable’s Arm (Deadpool 2)

Opa, El Moochadores! It’s been a long while since I’ve posted anything cosplay, and yesterday (while suffering through the painful grind of my soul-crushing day job) I came across this great video by super-sexy/cute copslayer Hendo.

In the youtube video below, Hendo shows us how to make a fantastic looking “Cable” arm, like the one the rest of you got to see in Deadpool 2. I wish I could’ve seen Deadpool 2 too, but I have to pay off a lot of credit card and student loan debt. sigh.

Anyways, I really did enjoy the make process Hendo uses here, and I hope this helps any potential cosplayers who may decide not to cosplay as Deadpool or Harley Quinn for upcoming conventions. Lot’s of DP’s and HQ’s at cons now days. There are other characters out there, folks. Check out more of Hendo’s cosplay work at Facebook page, or on her Instagram.

Enjoy!

Blade Runner 2049 Binoculars!

Adam Savage’s One Day Builds from Tested

Before I jump into this post, I just wanted to write that I hope film maker Kevin Smith is recovering well after his heart attack on Sunday. Though I know it extremely unlikely he would ever know about Atomic Moo, or anything else Chud and I are making, Smith has been a great inspiration for us, and I think he’s one of the founding fathers of this thing we call geek creative. We’re very much looking forward to a healthy Kevin Smith, more films, and more Smodcasts.

Okay El Moochadores, I got a bit of free time, and after putting in some work on Atomic Tails, and a bit of drawing practice, I wanted to Moopost! On the Youtube I came across another fantastic Tested video of Adam Savage’s one day builds. Published way back on January 3rd, watch as Savage recreates the binoculars from Blade Runner 2049! Which is cool because I just watched this flick last weekend! I also fell asleep in it three times, but that’s okay! One of the reasons I like the original Blade Runner so much is that it works both as a great film to play in the background while I draw, and as an excellent “fall asleep” flick. Seriously, I can never get past Rachel’s Voight Kampff test before I’m totally passed out. Weirdly, I also fall asleep to Schwarzenegger’s Predator… I think it’s the dulcet tones of explosions and Austrian accented puns that knocks me out. Anyways, enjoy the make and if you’re prop maker or cosplayer and want to share your work with us, I would love to post it here!

Cheers!

MAGFest 2018 Cosplay

New Cosplay Video from Beat Down Boogie

Beat Down Boogie is back from the Midwest with another groovy video and cosplay photos. Check out their stylish coverage of MAGfest 2018, and a little fun from Snake and Ghost in the arcade. MAGFest (Music And Gaming Festival) is a four day, non-profit, event held annually in National Harbor MD. Looks like a lot of fun, and (if they allow cool illustration vendors like us) we may get out there. Anyways, check out all the fun below and hit this Facebook link to see way more photos! I only posted a smattering of images below.

Smatter.

Anime Weekend Atlanta 2017

Cospaly Video from Beat Down Boogie

Hey El Moochadores! Here’s a quick post to finish off the day. Check out Beat Down Boogies unique coverage of Anime Weekend Atlanta 2017. I got to admit, a lot of the cosplay in the video – I have no idea what it’s from, but that doesn’t mean the costumes aren’t well made, and with a spreckel of stuff I dig. I also posted a smattering of images from the BDB Facebook page. Click the link to see ’em all. So, give it a watch while I go finish a comic about cartoon mice.

Cheers.

Magfest 2017

Cosplay, Gaming and Music from Beatdown Boogie!

We’re back! That’s right El Moochadores, we (the intrepid Brothers Moo) have survived yet another swirling storm of disaster and chaos (aka: our lives) and are now (some how) wiser, better looking, and ready to blog. So, let us celebrate this triumphant return by getting back to some cool geek creativity.

Recently Distractotron visited MAGfest 2017 and they brought back a whole bunch of cool photos and video work. MAGfest (Music and Gaming) is a “four day-long event dedicated to the appreciation of video game music, gaming of all types, and the gaming community.” According to the website the event runs 24 hours a day (wtf SDCC? get it together!) and offers “consoles, arcades, tabletop, LAN, live video game cover bands, chiptunes, vendors, guest.” Cool, maybe Atomic Moo and the Murray Brothers Creative can attend a future MAGfest. We’re cool too, right?

Anyways, check out the videos (parts one and two) below along with a smattering of images taken from the Distractotron Facebook page.

Enjoy!

NYCC 2016 Coverage from Beat Down Boogie!

Spotlight Videos One and Two!

We’re west coast guys and, for the most part, content with our lives here in sunny, beautiful, San Diego. However, we’re also very poor and unable to attend some of the amazing comic book conventions happening around the world. So, we rely on the stunning photo and video work of the fine people at Beat Down Boogie to provide excellent coverage of events like NYCC 2016. Just seeing all the beautiful cosplay and fun events shot in slow motion and paired with good tunes fills me… aww, who am I kidding. These guys are good at something and they get to travel around the world doing it and that feels me with a jealous rage! I’m terrible at everything and it gets me no where! Fuck’n life. So anyways; for what ever reason, check out the videos below to either enjoy them or seethe with the frustrating jealousy.

Enjoy.

Two dorks lost in a sea of geeks…

Wow, what a break! Sorry for the extreme lack of post the last few days (weeks) but last Sunday we finished San Diego Comic Con 2016! Jason and I have been attending Comic-Con since 1995, and if my math is right (probably isn’t) then that is twenty one years of creative-geeky goodness packedIMG_0487 into a four day event. Usually right before our birthdays too!

Though will be Moocasting about this years con on the next episode (#119), I wanted to get some of our images online now. This year we met a lot of talented artist, performers, and cosplayers. I’ll be working hard to arrange interviews with as many as possible, but we also ran into a bunch of past Moocast interviewees like Nicole Brune, Josh Henaman, and Katrina Kuntsmann. All of whom had new art and comics out on their tables!

This last years con was incredibly inspiring, and I think we’re going to do it folks! Jason and I have been hitting the local smaller cons, but this next year I think we’re going to apply for artist alley and pro badges!IMG_3307_copy_t670 Yeah, we probably won’t get them, but we’re gonna try! Anyways, check out the images below, I’ll be adding these to our gallery pages as well.

Also, a special shout out goes to friend of the site Dean LeCrone who’s Dr. Peepers costume won Syfy’s 2016 Weirdly Awesome Cosplay! We’re going to have Dean on the podcast very soon to tell us the whole story, but check out the youtube video below too!

***note: these are just the images I took from my iPhone. Jason was kind of our un-official photographer, and we’re still putting together all of his images, which will appear with the next Moocast! Also, Jason hurry up and get me the damn pictures! Lazy.

Cheers!
