Okay… another day of work behind me. Someday I hope to build a client list big enough to go freelance fulltime, but until then I guess I gotta keep trudging along. Anyways, I thought I’d take a moment to post on something I saw earlier (via NerdBastards.com). It’s a song called“Ring Capacity” and it’s about our favorite space cop with the neatest decoder ring in the universe. It’s performed by a nerd rock band from Seattle called Kirby Krackle; I’ll have to look up more of their songs later tonight. If you want to learn more about them you can visit their Youtube channel, or their website. You can also find them on Facebook. Check out the video below and enjoy!
Hey geeks! Just got done with my work day, and thought I would relax a bit and throw on a post of this video I saw earlier. It’s from a group that calls themselves Frogislandflicks, called “A Toast To Green Lantern.” It’s pretty funny, and worth a look. I don’t want to say too much about it and spoil it for you. Check it out and enjoy.
Hey geeks. Here’s something I’ve seen on my reader a couple times today, so I thought I’d give it a look. It’s a new trailer for Green Lantern, and it pretty much lays out all the back story that you’ll need to know before watching it on June 17th. Check it out below and let us know what you think.
Ola ladies and gents! Chudd and I just got back from seeing Thor, and although we do have a full review in the works let me just say, pretty damn good. So in the spirit of two of the major blockbuster movies to hit this summer check out this funny video by youtube user itsjustsomerandomguy, where Thor and Green Lantern verbally bash each others films.
Morning everybody! Warner Bros. has just released a new trailer for the soon to be released Green Lantern. This trailer, which you can see below, has a bunch of new footage including a shot of the The Guardians doing their guardian stuff, and scenes of Hal Jordan being trained by Sinestro and Kilowog. Check out and let us know if you think this movie will be succeed or flop. Green Lantern is directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) and premieres June 17th. Still no sightings of Ch’p yet…
It looks like they’re going to make a Green Lantern animated series for the Cartoon Network. Below is a super short clip of the series that has been showing up across the Web. Sources on the internet say the series is being produced by Bruce Timm (or is it Tim Bruce… I always screw that up) and that the first season will have 26 episodes where the main villains will be the Red Lantern Corp.
Cool, says I! Serious, just like cowbell, we need more Green Lantern. The clip I found really is brief and fast pace, so I couldn’t see if Ch’p was in the series or not. I hope he is because no cartoon is complete without a super-powered space chipmunk. Check out the clip and let us know what you think or what GL’s you want to make an appearance.
Hey everybody! New posters and extended t.v. trailer for the upcoming Green Lantern movie have been released, and they’re looking pretty damn cool. I’m really rooting for this film. I know a lot of critics and other bloggers are predicting a fail, but Green Lantern was the first comic I bought when I was nine years old. I’ve collected the series as often as I could ever since and I sincerely hope this movie succeeds. Still, the obsessive nerd who lives deep within my brain keeps whispering, “…you thought Wolverine was going to be good too” or “damn shame about that 3rd Spider-man, huh?” At which point I usually scream, “Shut up asshole”, and then realize I’m cussing at myself in a public. All the same, I’m doing my best to squash that voice and trust that Ryan Reynolds will make one kick ass Hal Jordan. I’ve also been seeing around the web that Warner Bros has added an additional $9 million dollars to the F/X budget for last minute fixes. I honestly don’t know if that’s good news or bad news, but I’m hoping the film makers are just very O.C.D. and are working extra hard on getting things perfect.
Check out the posters and trailer below and let us know what you think about the upcoming movie or what comic book based film you’d like to see get made.
I saw this on my reader this morning (via Gee•Lee•Tist), and thought it was pretty awesome. Here’s a cute girl that likes Green Lantern, cosplays, and says on her blog (The Ghost Academy) her “favorite Star Wars is Empire.” Damn, she sounds perfect. I must have her. Minions! Go forth and bring her to me! I’ll be waiting in my meditation chamber… which is really my bedroom filled with boxes of comic books and nudie mags. That’s about as close to a meditation chamber as I’ll ever have.
I’m really wishing I could’ve gone to WonderCon this year. Sucks being a poor bastard. Looks like they showed some new footage of the Green Lantern movie. I’ve watched it a couple times this morning. I really liked seeing all the different Lanterns in the Corps, and I’m looking forward to seeing more of that when the movie comes out. I’m still not crazy about the costume. Here’s a brief synopsis of the film I got off of iTunes, and the footage is below that. Enjoy!
In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan. Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.
Okay, who are they and where can I get one? The girls that is, not the costumes… don’t have the figure for that. I spotted a couple of these on a site called Geekleetist.com, but I can’t remember where I saw Spider-Girl on. I have no idea who the girls are that either made or modeled these, and I’ll admit I’m a little too tired to research it out. It’s early gawdammit!. All I know is that they look great, and they should be complimented on an awesome job. Okay, I’m off to take cold shower now.
