Surrounding our booth at Power-Con 2016 were a lot of fantastic artist, and (hopefully) I’ll get around to posting about their stuff over the next couple of weeks. One artist that really stood out though was Lamont Hunt of Dakota Kid Creations. Hunt, a professional character designers, had a bunch of great prints featuring a fun style. I’m not totally sure how he is illustrating (kind of looks like markers or water color) but the results are amazing. I love cartooning, and seeing his work was really inspiring.
Check out a few sample images below, but you can see way (WAY) more on his facebook page!
Okay El Moochadores, we’re putting the finishing touches on some new art that we’ll be taking to Power-Con this coming weekend. Check out these vector busts by Chudd (aka: Jason Murray). We’ll be selling this art along with the other MOTU prints I blogged about a few days ago. I’ll also post these prints to the Murray Brothers Creative shop, so that you can purchase them online. We’ll also have some unique button art at the con, but we’re just now starting to put that together, so… no preview yet. Anyways, if you happen be a fan of 80’s pop-culture, and in So. Cal this weekend, swing by Torrance and check out the con! It’s shaping up to be a really cool event!
Okay El Moochadores, in a couple of weeks we’ll be exhibitors at Power-Con 2016!. Power-Con is “The He-Man and She-Ra Toy & Comic Book Experience,” and last night Jason finished one of the pieces of art we’ll be selling at our table. Look up and check out his take on Teela and Evil-Lyn. I know I’m a little biased, but I think he did an awesome job!
Along with these two prints we’ll be taking a unique button set based on the MOTU icons, and I’m even pitching in with some of my cartoon mice, based on the comic strip I’m working on: Atomic Tails. We’re hoping to have a good time at the con and if you happen to both follow our website and live in California, swing by the Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach hotel on June 4th and 5th and check out our table! Though I’m just now in the process of posting them, all of these prints will be available for sale on the Murray Brothers Creative website. You can also check out more of Jason’s art at the link above or on his Deviant Art page.
The He-Man and She-Ra Toy & Comic Book Experience!
We’re going to another con! Yup, this June 4th and 5th, Chudd and I will be taking Murray Brothers Creative, and all our wonderful art, to Power-Con 2016. There we hope to join all the other He-Man/She-Ra/fantasy enthusiasts in celebrating a chunk of our childhoods, and we’ll be bringing new art as well. Look to the right and you can see a preview (it’s not done yet, and don’t tell Chudd I posted this, he’ll freak out!) of one of the pieces we’re creating just for this con. Hey, we loved our MOTU action figures when we were kids, now we get the chance to geek out and use some of our art to help celebrate!
Power-Con 2016 is being held at the Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach and has a great line up of guest, vendors, cosplayers, and panels that look like a lot fun! Hit the link above for ticket information, and I was just informed that their online ticket sales actually end tonight! After tonight, it’s just ticket sales at the door! So hurry! Also, don’t forget to follow Power-Con on their Facebook and Twitter!
Power-Con 2016 will focus on the core properties of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and She-Ra Princess of Power. The convention will feature guests who worked on various aspects of He-Man and She-Ra, fan programming, exhibitors, and more!
Awesome Custom Costumes from Jaze Cosplay Studios!
Good evening El Moochadores. I’m sick. Literally, not figuratively (though probably that too). Anyways; Today, while slowly dying from fever and chills, I was also going through my “con pile” in search of cool things to share on this – your favorite bovine based – blog (heh. Cut me some slack, I’ve had a lot of NyQuil and other “self medications” today). Anywhat, I came across this really cool cosplay work by husband and wife teamAime and Lance Jaze. The couple are professional performers and they make custom costumes for production studios and individuals. I really dug their work on the She-Ra and Skeletor (and Evil-Lyn) cosplay that can be found on the home page of their site. Check out a few sample images below, but also go click the link above to see more images at their website.
Anyways, I’m going back to bed now and wait for the end. Wow. I think I can even see some of my dead ancestors. Crap. How long have they been standing there watching me? Weird.
Via Deviant Art: Good morning El Moochadores! Before I leave for work (ughh) today (first day back in about a week… damn), I wanted to post about this incredible looking Masters of the Universe art by Australian illustrator, DrFaustusAU! Though he says they are digital illustrations, I think (THINK) that these are vector based art, but I could be wrong. All the same though, they are pretty amazing!
Click link above to see more of his portfolio on Deviant art! Now I’m off to earn the minimust of wages…
I didn’t think a cool Orko illustration was possible. Wow, was I wrong! Check out the fantastic Masters of the Universe art work by Italian artist, Antonio De Luca! De Luca is a professional illustrator and comic artist who has also worked as a video game designer, film maker, and painter. These are excellent illustrations, but where’s the Fisto? How come Fisto never gets any love? Anyways, check out more samples of his art on Deviant Art!
Via Deviant Art: Boa noite El Moochadores! Yeah, I’m crossing a few languages there, but it’s late and I’ve had a busy day. A day that is also almost over and I have just barely enough time to do one quick Moopost! So, Check out this brilliant illustration of Skeletor from Masters of the Universe by artist Dave Wilkins! Holy hell, Skeletor never looked as menacing, and evil, before this portrait of him holding a cosmic cube! Wilkins has an entire portfolio of excellent art, so be sure to check out his Deviant Art page and take a gander at some truly powerful art!
03/20/2013 / Trog / Comments Off on Man at Arms: Forging He-Man’s Sword!
Good morning El Moochadores! Now on YouTube are some very cool videos of blacksmiths forging geeky weapons! Produced by AWE Me these videos show blacksmith Tony Swatton making things like a damn good looking He-Man power sword! Swatton has been working as a blacksmith for the film industry for years and has made weapons for films like Blade and Pirates of the Caribbean! I am also going to post some of AWE me’s other videos which feature the creation of working Batarangs and Oddjobs Hat!
Time for another daily post. This is something I spotted earlier (via GeekNative.com). It’s a custom built He-Man sculpture by a guy that goes by the name EdgePang on DeviantArt. I’m hoping he does Evilyn next. Here are some other images of this awesome piece…
He’s got some other great sculpts in his DA Gallery, so check those out if you get a chance. Anyhow, it’s hotter than hell in here, and I hear the couch calling my name for a nap. Later!
