Hey El Moochadores, one of our favorite (free) web-comics, Blue Milk Special, is currently raising funds to continue its parody of the Star Wars universe. Created by the talented Leanne and Rod Hannah, this very funny take (on all things Star Wars) parodies the original trilogy “one scene at a time”. They started with the episode IV (New Hope) and are now working their way through Episode VI (Return of the Jedi… or Metal Bikini Time) with explorations of extended universe stuff like the Star Wars Christmas Special, and the 1990’s novel, Shadow of the Empire. This really is a great comic and one of the things I look forward to as it appears twice (? I think) weekly. They’ve got some pretty cool rewards for donating, including a never before seen strip for donation of $20.00 or more. So, go visit the site! Go check out the fundraiser! Go get a cool frosty cup of blue milk and enjoy a long archive of free comics!
Below I’ve posted a couple of examples of Blue Milk Special, but this is just the tip of the iceberg!
Via Geek X Girls: According to Wikipedia; Thomas Kinkade was “an American painter of popular realistic, bucolic, and idyllic subjects.” His works, mass marketed in malls (mostly) everywhere, often show tranquil settings full of light and nature; Then Alien Artisan (aka Jeff Bennett) swoops in with an airbrush and blows it all to hell! Please do enjoy this amazing pieces of Kinkade-ish settings over run with Star Wars! Otherwise boring paintings now have ideal settings blasted away by Storm Troopers and gated back yards contain Rancor monsters! Be sure to check out more of Bennett’s great art at www.alienartisan.com! Ahhh, yes. The smoldering remains of a summer cottage… beautiful.
One of my many (many!) problems is that once I find something I like I get a little OCD. For example, I love web comics. Love’em! When I find one I really enjoy (e.g. Bearmageddon) I lock in on it and I have to read all it right away, no matter how extensive a prior comics archive the site may have. Well, it happened again. I found out about a Web comic that is by far one of the best I’ve ever read, and goddamn, I spent a lot of time reading it this last weekend!
Blue Milk Special is a wonderful and hilarious take on the Star Wars universe! Started back in February of 2009 (how did I just learn about this!? I’m really starting to doubt my geek cred…) by husband and wife team, Rod and Leanne Hannah, the comic strip is totally non-profit and draws its name from that odd blue gunk Aunt Beru was serving up for dinner in A New Hope!

New strips appear on the site about once a week and follows (parodies) the original trilogy closely. Although they do also include the Star Wars Holiday Special (ripe for parody) and from what I have read they have plans to include the Shadows of the Empire novel as well. Blue Milk Special also produces a Podcast which is just a lot of good Star Wars geeky fun!
I’ve posted a few sample strips below, but this is just the smallest fraction of awesome that is Blue Milk Special! So go check out their site! Now! NOW!!!
Damn, I can’t wake up this morning! So, this is going to be a quick one. There’s a new Troopers video on CollegeHumor.com. Whatzhername (I think it’s Aubrey Plaza… same chick from Parks and Rec right?) is looking pretty good in that white Leia-like dress. Anyhow, check it out and enjoy. I’m off to take a cold shower and try to wake up.
