The Doubleclicks Interview!

The Doubleclicks people! The Doubleclicks were on our show! This show! Finally! And I think we impressed them. Well, probably not, but the geek folk-duo singing sisters (Angela and Aubrey Webber)banana-768x503 are on this latest episode of the Atomic Moocast, and we’re now better people for it. The ladies (I had to learn that one) are currently on a summer tour and early last June we recorded an interview with them to discuss the tour, new songs, being creative, and how not to kill your sibling. Turns out they are really good at that. Anyways, it was extremely cool of them to be on our sputtering little podcast and we’re now even bigger fans of theirs!

Also, we’re really sick on this podcast. One of the reasons (usually its just my laziness) this podcast is later than normal is that both Jason and I got taken down by some alien cold/flu combo. It kicked the hell out of us, but we persevered and produced the podcast all the same. Still, please excuse all the coughs and snorts at the intro portion of the show.

So here we go folks! This Moocast is a fresh steaming pile of podcasting excellence just ready to be poured down your ear holes! Now would be the time to go grab a fizzy soda, some salty snacks, and a comfy chair. Then just settle in and let us dominate your brain for a little less than an hour. We’ll try not to muss it up too much…

Enjoy!

WonderCon 2016!

Yeah, I know WonderCon was about a month ago, but damnit! We’re in the midst (Midst, people! Midst!) of some very important con preparation ourselves, and that sort of slowed things down a bit. However, the podcast is here! So rejoice! Then check out a few notes about this episode: NEuY5mxKsO4Jyv_1_b

First: Many thanks to all the comic creators and artist who let us interview them at the con! Unfortunately, I lost about half the interviews I had recorded that day. D’oh! You have to understand, that I’m very new to recording stuff on my iPhone. Add that to my limited intelligence and… well, bad stuff’s going to happen. Seriously though, I feel terrible about it. Somehow I deleted about 1/2 of all our interviews and it was gone before I had a chance to pull them from my phone. Some of these interviews included conversations with past Atomic Moo interviewees like Josh Henaman (Big Foot: Sword of the Earthman), and Sarah Bitely (Pimpkillah!). IMG_0289Also, because I lost so many interviews, I will be posting about this great stuff here on the website, so as to make sure everyone get’s some coverage for their hard work. Check the show notes below for information about the featured interviews, but keep coming back to see more great art and comics featured at this years con. Which leads to…

Second: I’m really new to recording with an iPhone. So, things are going to sound weird. I know that it’s always been a struggle to get good audio with our limited resources, but I’m getting some new challenges thrown at me with this new set up. We’re practicing more and recording as much as possible, so hopefully it sounds better in the future, but the sounds kind of all over the place on this one. I did my best to level everything, but… ehh… you’ll hear. I hope.

Third: The movie review of Batman v. Superman at the very end of this podcast was heavily edited. You see, I got this problem where I can’t talk about any movie without bring up how much I hate (HATE) the most recent Disney/Star Wars film. So, because we were talking about Batman v. Superman,2016-04-01-1459488050-1567099-bvs I kind of went through and edited out all my tangents about the (not Star Wars!) Disney-bullshit that has me so perturbed these days. It’s not like I’m afraid to tell people my feelings about that (shitty) film, it’s just that I felt it wasn’t necessary for a discussion about another movie. So, the review at the end may feel a little, “clunky” and “malformed.” Much like Disney/Star Wa– goddammit. I can’t stop myself.

So, having wrote all that: Here it is folks! One hour of Atomic Moo bliss ready to make a home somewhere in the deepest crevices of your brain! But don’t hit “play” yet! Get ready for it! Go and grab some tasty snacks! Then turn off your all distractions and nestle into your comfy zone. Then all that’s left to do is settle your brain and smile as you relax with the best damn podcast your friends don’t know about!

Enjoy!

P.S.

Check a small sample of photos from the con and some of the featured artists work! Also, if I can somehow find the lost interviews (learn my iPhone) I’ll post them on a future Moocast episode.

Pimpkillah Returns!

Okay El Moochadores, the new Moocast is here, and it didn’t take me 2 months to finish. Cool. Anyways, on this episode: We’re trying out our new podcasting equipment! Well, it’s just an iPhone, app, and a mic,tl8afrvoiwxfoup6uncx but still kind of neat! Then: comic creator Sarah Bitely is back on the show to tell us about Pimpkillah issue #2, and her new film project. Also (because I managed to get this episode done before the con), Sarah will be attending Wondercon this weekend. If you can get to Anaheim this weekend go check out Pimpkillah at artist alley, table D-24!

Well, we aint getting any younger, folks! Now’s the time to reach over and hit play on this work of auditory genius. First though, go grab some salty snacks, fizzy drinks, and comfy chairs! Settle in, and prepare yourselves for a Moocast that may (no promises) alter your brain. Hopefully in a good way.

November Brune!

Finalmente! We’re back! Well, kind of. Sorry for the hiatus El Moochadores, but we’re back now with a new(-ish) Atomic Moocast for your listening pleasure. On this episode talented artist Nicole Brune joins the show to share a little hope and optimism.NB-headshot-IMG_5344-jan-2015 Also, to make sure we’re working on the stuff we said we’d be working on. I actually recorded this interview with Nicole way back in November 2015 (if you can remember back that far) and yeah, it took me a while to get this one together (sorry Nicole!) but it’s ready and hopefully Jason and I can get back on to a regular schedule of recording and new interviews. Anyways, it was great having Nicole on the show once again and we’re hoping to have back on sometime in the future.

No more delay, let’s get into it folks! It’s been too long! The time is now to heal the ache of your Moocastless ear holes with our soothing audio slather! Get ready for it! So go now and grab that cool beverage from the back of the fridge! Grab a salty snack while you’re there too! Then hustle on over to your favorite comfy spot, plug in, load up, or what ever you need to do, and get the best damn podcast your friends don’t know about rolling across your brain once again!

Enjoy!

Now, I was actually trying to get this episode finished before the kickstarter for issue #2 ended, and I almost did it! Missed it by one day. d’oh. Our Interview with Devin Kraft!

WE’RE BACK! Yeah, it’s been awhile, but that’s only because the unjust gods that rule our universe have been kicking me around like a hacky sack. But enough excuses! We got a Moocast, and you’ve got ears (we hope), so let’s make this happen!

On this episode we’re talking with indie comic maker Devin Kraft! Devin is the creator of a bunch of great comics, like Dragon Slayer, and I really got to apologize to Devin for getting this episode on so late. For this episode he joined the show to promote hisphoto-original Kickstarter for his new comic The Silence: Track One, which was fully funded! Way to go Devin! The Silence is a great looking story about a band of girls (rock band) that set out to find and save their fathers, who’ve been lost at sea. And they do it on a yellow submarine. Groovy.

So, here we go folks. It was hell to make, but now it’s here and ready for your eager ear holes! Go now, and get that salty snack and a cool beverage! Then find your way over to your favorite comfy spot, nestle in and hit play on the best damn podcast your friends don’t know about!

Our Interview with Comic Creator Debbie L. Smith!

On this episode we’re talking with Kymera PressCover founder, and author of Gates of Midnight comic series, Debbie L. Smith! Check out the show notes below to see some samples of Gates of Midnight, along with links as to where you can purchase it!

So, let’s not delay a moment folks! This Moocast is primed and ready to launch into your gooey grey brain! Now would be the time to go secure that cool fizzy soda! They Bought a Comic Con!

New Moocast folks! Damn, it’s been awhile too. My apologies for the lack of Moocast lately (I know I’m letting down our thousands of loyal listeners. heh), but we’re back on track now and, with a little effort, we should be able to get more of these out on time from now on. That being said…

On this episode of the world’s best geek creative podcast Chudd and I discuss the making of our first comic book, and later we’re joined once again by the dynamic duo, John Roach and Nicole Brune! They’ve got some big news which I totally spoiled in the title of this post, but still it was damn good to talk to them again and made for some damn fine Moocasting!

So, get yourselves comfortable folks by what ever means possible, scroll down to the bottom, and hit play on the best damn podcast your friends don’t know about!
