Featuring Drawing Tuts, Loki’s Chitauri Staff, and the Pippi Longstocking Reboot!
A lot to do, today, El Moochadores! So let’s jump right in and start post about stuff like this very cool Autodesk SketchBook on how to create a custom chain brush. For those of you who work digitally, you already know that creating new brushes can be a huge time saver. Check out this tut, which (to me anyways) looks like it could be adapted to other illustration programs as well. For more great tutorials visit the Autodesk Sketchbook Pro website!
MAN AT ARMS: Loki’s Chitauri Scepter
Next up; we got another great build from the awesome people at AWE me. Watch as the Man at Arms crew re-builds Loki’s staff (aka: the Chitauri Scepter) from the Avengers and Thor movies. Then, watch them chop, slice, and dice all sorts of doomed objects with that same scepter. Then(!) spend the rest of your day saying scepter, because it’s a cool sounding word and we don’t get to say it nearly enough in real life!
Clint Howard Reboots Pippi Longstocking!
Finally, from Funny or Die, check out probably the only reboot we actually want to see; Pippi Longstocking as pitched by Clint Howard!
Via Geektyrant: Good morning El Moochadores, and there’s no better way to kick off the day than with a some cool superhero art! Check these great illustrations of popular heroes by artist Dave Merrell. Merrell has a site full of wonderful art work but today we’re just focusing on the works that feature Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Superman, Wonderwoman, and Batman!
Good evening El Moochadores! One of the many talented artist we met at Comikaze this last year was illustrator/ designer Justin Harder. After finding his promotional card in our “stack of Comikaze” swag, I was going to post about his very cool geeky art work, or maybe even the very awesome short animation he did called Lil’Italy, but that will all have to wait, because of the rapping Thor video I found on his website! Yup. A rapping Thor video! According to the site, Harder and his studio, Claus did the painting for the end title sequence of Thor: The Dark World; to celebrate the films release, Harder and crew, did the right thing… which is putting on a pair of black “parachute” pants and performing a parody of MC Hammers, “Can’t Touch This!” Sister and Brethren Moo, please do enjoy the best Marvel Comics/ early 1990’s rap mash-up ever made!
Featuring the New Thor trailer, Star Wars Celebration VII News, and a new character for Injustice
Holy cow (again, not ours… she’s just “super”), it’s been a long while since we did a Morning Moo, but I just woke up and there is a lot of stuff going on in our corner of the universe. So, let’s carve off a steaming slice of news and updates and jump right in with…
Star Wars Celebrations Tickets Are Now On Sale!
My wallet is still hurting after SDCC 2013 and this happens now? I hate being poor, but for those of you who didn’t get into Comic Con (or have lots of cash lying around collecting dust) the world’s largest Star Wars convention is coming to Anaheim in 2015! The tickets went on sale… today. It looks like Jedi Master and Jedi Knight VIP passes have already sold out, but if you can still get tickets at the Star Wars Celebration VII website. Maybe buy a couple extra. Y’know to give to a couple of poor, downtrodden, bloggers…
Thor: The Dark World Offical Trailer
The one thing I saw most upon waking up and turning on my computer this morning (apart from the site promising totally legal nudes) was the new trailer for Thor: The Dark World. So, since everyone else is doing it (and we have no resistance to peer pressure), check out the new Thor trailer. The movie looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun and Natalie Portman looks to be one smoking hot viking vixen. Thor: The Dark World slams it’s way into theaters this November!
Zatanna Joins Injustice!
Via Big Shiny Robot: Okay, when scoping out girls in cosplay, my favorite isn’t actually Slave Leia. No, in real life I go crazy when I see Zatanna-ites (plural?). It’s something about the fishnets, bow tie, and top hat. Anyways, according to the article, Warner Brothers just announced that on August 13th sexy magician, Zatanna will be the next character to join Injustice! The character can be purchased for 4.99 or 400 Microsoft Points. Check out the kick ass trailer below:
That’s it for now Sister and Brethren Moo. I need to go earn some money, but Later on today I’ll be posting the new Moocast and other cool, fan made, stuff! Until then have a great morning and keep checking back to the world’s best geek site with a luchador fighting cow as it’s mascot! Serious, I think in that category, we’re the best. So far as I know.
07/16/2013 / Trog / Comments Off on Marvel’s Comic-Con Posters for Thor and Captain America!
Via Geek Tyrant; Good evening El Moochadores! Right now the internet is blowing up with all things Comic-Con and, for the most part, I’ve been leaving it to the other geek sites to cover the nerdsplosion of all things leading up to the con (mostly because I hate spoilers), but Marvel has just revealed the swag posters they’ll be handing out for this year to promote the upcoming Thor and Captain America sequels! These actually look pretty damn cool and I’m getting all sorts of excited for this years con! Check out the Captain America poster above and Thor below!
I think I just ate too much rice pudding… Nope, I know I did, dammit. I gotta feeling it’s going to take awhile to get through this post. I might need to stop for nap. Anyhow, I came across these nifty typographical classification posters (via GeekTyrant.com) by Graphic Designer Matthew Olin. I like how he used the Hulk for Slab Serif. Anyhow, check out the rest below. Later!
eh, what the hell? Enjoy this too…
Holy shit, that cracks me up every time. I think I’m going to put this at the end of all my posts.
07/29/2012 / Trog / Comments Off on Thor: The Dark World Scene Information May Have Been Revealed
Via Geek Tyrant; A recent letter to Bourne Wood, England by the producers of a movie called “Thursday Mourning” describes the production of clearly different movie adapted from a “Fictional Realm.” Check it out:
We are writing to let you know about some filming about to be undertaken in Bourne Wood in the coming months. Please find a brief overview and introduction to this project.
“Thursday Mourning” is the working title of a major feature film. It is comic book adaptation set in another “fictional realm”.
We will be establishing a fictional village set in another realm, with yurts and village like dressing in the bowl. The sequence involves a battle between two kingdoms, ending in our comic book hero arriving to save the day. The sequence will involve a substantial amount of Stunts and controlled special effects all within the hours 0700 – 1900hrs.
We plan to use most of the areas that are usually occupied by film units for all our support vehicles. The sequence will involve approximately 300 extras who will arrive in the early hours prior to call time to go through costume and makeup.
I enjoyed the last Thor movie and have been happy with Marvel’s run of superhero pictures. Best of luck to the producers of Thor (if Thursday Mourning is in fact Thor… I’m not saying it’s Thor, but it’s Thor.) and I’m looking forward to November 8th, 2013.
Good evening El Moochadores! Tonight, I mostly have a collection of movie trailers to post about. The big summer blockbusters are just around the corner and I thought (sometimes I do that folks) it would be cool to take a look at a few of the things Hollywood is tossing our way this year. Oh, and that image at the top of the page comes our way via ulisesfarinas.com. Okay, I couldn’t find Waldo but try and find Dr. Who instead. Wait, maybe Dr. Who and Waldo are one and the same? That would explain a lot.
I’m starting to suspect that over the next year (until sometime in May) the geek community’s expectations for the Avengers may get a little out of hand. If this film doesn’t have Iron Man Hulk Busting Armor, a Skrull invasion, and the return of Jesus H. Christ himself, then it may be a bit of a let down to some fans. Eh, but what the hell, let’s stoke the flames of fandom just a bit more by posting some videos from D23 Expo, where the cast of the Avengers answer questions about the the upcoming flick.
Ola ladies and gents! Chudd and I just got back from seeing Thor, and although we do have a full review in the works let me just say, pretty damn good. So in the spirit of two of the major blockbuster movies to hit this summer check out this funny video by youtube user itsjustsomerandomguy, where Thor and Green Lantern verbally bash each others films.
