New Atomic Tails!!!!

Atomic Tails #16 is finally posted online! Yeah, Kind of took me a bit, but you can read about the making of the new strip on my Atomic Tails Blog (Trog’s Blog)! That’s right. I’m half-assing two blogs now. What the fuck… Anyways, the real life Chudd (aka: Jason Murray) created the logo that appears in panel three, and I think he did a great job with it. The Ascension of the Golden Yo-Yo’s may rise again. Maybe. I had a lot of fun with this strip and it was a pretty good learning experience. I’m already working on Strip #17, but click here to see all the strips so far! Also, also; help support Atomic Tails by following us on twitter (@AtomicTails) and Instagram (Atomic_Tails).

Cheers!

Yeah, I’m actually (kind of) following through on something. Anyways, check out the continuing adventures of Chudd and Trog in this weeks Atomic Tails! Also, some news about the strip: This last week I started a Facebook page and an Instagram for Atomic Tails. However, I have no idea how to link to the Instagram on here, but until I do, please look me on there and follow the strip! I am not internet savy, but thank you very much to all the people who have followed Atomic Tails just in the last week.

Anyways, I’m setting a goal to get strip 16 done by Saturday… so back to work.

Check out strip 15 below!

Cheers!

New Atomic Tails!

Okay El Moochadores, I just finished another strip for Atomic Tails! Check out #14 and the introduction of Buttery Wholesomeness. Based on the same Buttery Wholesomeness who occasionally helps out with the blog and podcast. The real life Buttery is much more a cartoon character. Anyways, more strips are coming soon.

Enjoy.

Thank You Comic Fest 2017!

Okay El Moochadores, it’s now been a week since San Diego Comic Fest 2017, and it was a pretty damn good con! I wanted to post about the convention sooner, but I had a busy work week, and then I got slammed by the con crud! I’m still a big snotty mess. Anywhat, we want to thank the convention organizers and all the attedees for an excellent con experience. Comic Fest was our sixth convention, and first con of 2017, and also a strong reminder of how awesome it feels to make art and have people actually buy it! Also, frigg’n great job on the Kirby Cafe. This years Comic Fest celebrated Kirby’s 100th birthday by decking out a bar/lounge with tons of Kirby art and covers! This was a cool con and we’re looking forward to next years convention, and hopefully a stronger portfolio of work.

Also, thank you very much to all those who signed up for our e-mail list. We’ll keep you updated with new con appearances, new illustration work, and anything else related to Atomic Moo and Murray Brothers Creative!

Anyways, I had to stay at the booth for most of the time were at the con, but here are some photos I pulled from the vastness of the internet to show some of the con happenings. Once again, not our images, but if you do a simple google search for San Diego Comic Fest, you can see where I pulled ’em from.

Cheers!

New Atomic Tails!!!

Strip #13 is online!

I’m only sharing this here because we’re a geek creative blog and this is the sort of stuff I like to do. So… I just finished another strip for my web comic, Atomic Tails. In this one Chudd’s bad day goes from bad to worst as he’s evicted from his apartment. I really dug working on this one. Mildred is definitively coming back in future strips and I like working with a limited amount of color. Anyways, check out this strip and the others in the Archives area of the site. I also have a small blog on the AT site where I write about what I learned well making this strip. Hopefully I can get the next one done in another couple weeks!

Cheers

Strip #12 Online!

Hello again El Moochadores! I’ve got a bunch of blog post to get through today, and my computer isn’t exactly cooperating, so let’s start with something really easy…
I finally finished another Atomic Tails strip. Though I’m a little shy about sharing my web comic here (or anywhere) I kind of also think it’s healthier to share this when I finish one. We are a geek creative website after all. Anyways, check out the strip below, and check out past strips through the link above.

Cheers!

An Atomic Moo Update

Hello El Moochadores! I got my computer working, sort of, so I can start posting again. Well, at least as often as I had been. A few creatives had reached out to me about posting their projects and being on the Moocast and I apologize to them for not putting their projects on the site for the last few days. Anyways, its kind of late, and I had a really long day at work, so I’ll just end this with a couple of videos of waving bears. Because… waving bears.

Cheers!

Dead Letters!

DeadLetters

An Anthology of the Undelivered, The Missing, The Returned…

An Atomic Moo Book Review

The Dead Letter office is a real thing. According to Wikipedia (never a real source), the dead letter office is “is a facility within a postal system where un-deliverable mail is dealt with”. A lot of countries have dead letter offices, but I think the US is the only one to actually use the name. According to 99percentinvisible.com – over “90,000,000 items were marked undeliverable-as-addressed (UAA) and entered the dead letter and parcel system.” This is all really cool, and (of course) it is also the prefect premise for dozens of stories the likes of which can be found in a new anthology from Titan Books! See how I brought that around. I think I’m good at this…

Anyways… Now out through Titan Books is a fantastic new collection of stories centered around the (mostly) sinister idea of unwanted mail! Okay… on the surface you wouldn’t think that was such a scary idea, but think about it: The wrong addressed letter, the misplaced package, that message that just disappeared, represent an idea of mystery. Opening a strangers mail is like a starting off point to the unknown! A possible leap into an unknown mystery! The shadowy secrets of your apartments former resident’s credit history suddenly laid bare! It’s possibly a goddamn ticket to the Twilight Zone, people!

Exploring the vast ocean possibly within 90 + million undelivered messages are eighteen writers (list below) who contribute their literary talents to this idea. Now I don’t want to give the idea that Dead Letters is all spooky horror stuff. The variety of stories cover everything from horror to mystery to the kind of mundane. One of my favorite stories in the book is actually one of the first stories and deals with a mysterious green envelope. Not necessarily an evil green letter (could be), but definitely a very bizarre green letter. Then other stories take you through painful personal histories or to mythical places. It’s this variety of ideas all based on the one premise that makes this book a fun read. There’s even an H.P. Lovecraft-esque story by Andrew Lane that reads incredibly spooky, and I think would have made Lovecraft proud. Overall, I really dug this book. Though, I thought it was weird every person in the story had a moral dilemma about opening a piece of lost mail (really? Not one guy/gal was like, “free shit!”), all of the stories take an unexpected journey and some of them are even kind of touching. I think this would be a much better book to read in the fall, closer to Halloween, but if you’re looking for an overall eerie vibe in your summer reading, then The Dead Letters would be a great place to start!

Dead Letters is available now in all major book stores, or you can get your copy online at Titanbooks.com. I posted the official synopsis below along with a complete list of contributing authors.

The Dead Letters Office: the final repository of the undelivered. Love missives unread, gifts unreceived, lost in postal limbo.
