I found this cool animation over on geektyrant.com and really liked it. I dunno, maybe it’s because I grew up with 8-bit games, but I do have a soft spot for anything that looks like it could have played on my old Sega Master System. Even though it probably wouldn’t have played on my old Sega. It probably would have been on Nintendo and I’d have to listen to all the cool kids talk about how awesome it was to play while I quietly chewed my bagged broccoli and thought about the crap ass Ghostbusters game I had at home. But I’m not bitter. No sir, not me. Anywayz, this animation was posted by You Tube user pierremanry and isn’t very long but still really cool.
Hey Geeks! I hope you all had a good Christmas, and that you were able to spend some time with family and friends. Unfortunately we’ll have to wait another six months before merchandisers start to push next year’s “Christmas Spirit” onto us… I almost can’t wait.
Other than turning down a puppy, my day was pretty good. My brother, Trog, figured that since I have a bad case of arrested development, and still collect toys at the age of 34, he would pick me up a couple Tron: Legacy action figures. So I thought I would show them off in this post. He got me a Rinzler and a Quorra action figure. I’m guessing these are pretty easy to find, and I think he got these at Target… or maybe Wallmart (one or the other). Like the movie there are things I really like about these, and then some things that really don’t like. Of course I’m not going to take these out of the package (yes, I’m that kind of toy nerd), so I haven’t had the chance to really inspect them.
Good morning. I didn’t get much sleep last night, and I’ve got a feeling today is going to suck the hair off a dead monkey’s balls (I’m not sure what that means, but give me a break, I’m only half awake right now). I guess we’ll have to see how things go. I saw this on facebook last night, and thought it was interesting. I didn’t know the suits actually lit up, I thought it was all CGI digital computer magic gnome stuff… Anyhow, check it out below. I’m going to take a shot and prepare for the day.
While I was waiting for the rice to finish I thought I would go through my RSS reader to see if there was anything of interest. There’s actually a ton of things buzzing around the web right now. I guess what caught my interest was all the Tron and Tron: Legacy stuff. I pretty much agree with what my brother wrote in the “Moo Review,” (sorry, we couldn’t think of a better title). It was an amazing looking film, but unfortunately the story was kind of weak. I still hope they make more though, and that they don’t give up on it. I think there’s potential for some real kick ass stories from “The Grid.” Anyhow, here’s a few things I found and I hope you enjoy them.
I didn’t get a damn thing done this weekend that I wanted to. I was hoping to finish up the sticker I was working on, get another version of the Zentradi wallpaper finished, fix my printer, add more wallpaper sizes to each design that we have so far, and I was also hoping to have time to fix up my own personal site and get that in order (currently I’ve been thinking I should find a new job and it would help to get my portfolio organized and online). I didn’t know going to see Tron: Legacy would turn into an all day event on Saturday. I guess maybe I don’t get out to the movies enough… I don’t know.
I guess I’ve bitched enough. Here’s something from a couple ladies that seem to know how to get things done. I just watch this video on how to make a “Tron Bag with El Wire” (I think that means “the” wire…). Thanks to LaughingSquid.com for sharing this. Is it me or is ladyada up there kinda cute? Maybe it’s the bag she’s holding? I don’t know, maybe I just have a thing for chicks and glowing lights. Check out the video and let us know what you think.
It took a little effort, but Chudd and I finally got to see Tron: Legacy last night at the nearest (…a mere 35 miles away, and only a 2 and 1/2 hour wait in line…) IMAX theater. I don’t want to spoil too much about the film, and I know several thousand professional critics and bloggers have already beat me to it, but for what it’s worth here is our take on Tron: Legacy in 3D.
Hey people… I just got off the phone from battling it out with a couple credit card companies (STAY AWAY FROM CREDIT CARDS!!!), trying to at least get a reason why they feel it’s fair to charge a 30% interest rate (STAY AWAY FROM CREDIT CARDS!!!). Neither company would give me one. The bastards are more than willing to slap it on your account, but won’t do a damn thing to find out a reason why, or negotiation for a rate that’s fair (STAY AWAY FROM CREDIT CARDS!!!). Seriously, it’s getting to the point we need to get out the pitchforks and torches, ’cause there’s some gluttonous monsters that need to be chased out of the village. Anyhow… I just got off the phone with them, and felt I needed to calm down a little (too early for whiskey… or is it???), so I logged into facebook looking for something to take my mind off my financial troubles. One of the first things I saw were these great looking Tron and Tron: Legacy prints from Mondo. These really do look awesome, and it looks like they’re going on sale today. Gee, it would be really nice to buy one, but unfortunately the credit card industry has ALL MY FUCKING MONEY! I think I might go for a walk. Check out the other print below.
Good morning my geek brothers and sisters. Fridays are usually good mornings… Saturdays are even better. I found a couple things today that are Tron: Legacy related. I’m starting to feel like they might be giving away too much of this film. Seems like every other day there’s a new clip, trailer or poster released for it. I’m still looking forward to it, and I hope it turns out well. I guess we’ll see here in a week…
Above is a great looking Tron/Big Lebowski mash-up (you knew it was going to happen…) shirt from TeeFury.com. I’m not sure if it’s available anymore. That would suck if it wasn’t.
I noticed as I logged in that Trog and I have hit 300 posts. I guess that pretty cool, coming from a couple guys that only six months ago thought a blog was the noise you make when puking up a Denny’s Grand Slam after a night of binge drinking. Hopefully we’ll be able to continue on and get another 300 posts on here, and turn this site into something that’s pretty neat.
So I was planning on posting something else that was Tron related, but I came across this Tron: Legacy illustration by Peter Breese in my reader, and thought I should share it (thanks to BoingBoing.net for posting about this). It’s actually a really cool piece of Geek Art. It’s an illustration of Quorra, made in “ink and gouache on watercolor paper.” He’s got another quick study sketch on his blog of Yori (the digital hottie from the first Tron film) that looks pretty cool to. I have to say I really like the new look of the costumes, and that they ditched the digital bald cap (I’m not sure what else to call it). I don’t know, maybe I’m jumping the gun here, since I haven’t even seen the movie yet, but I think Quorra is quickly becoming one of my favorite Sci-Fi/ Fantasy chicks to drool over. A couple of my other favorites would be Princess Leia (in Metal Bikini of course), and Nova from the original Planet of the Apes. Anyhow, Check out the illustration and enjoy!
Why were those chicks in the white suits walking so funny? Vinyl too tight? Anyhow, I thought I would share this really quick before I head off to the gym. I’m definitely looking forward to December. Check out the new Tron: Legacy trailer below and let us know what you think.
