TWADS: Twilight Dads Anonymous

Lately, I’ve been noticing in my reader and on other geek blogs a lot of buzz about the new Twilight film, and Twilight fans in general. I’ve also seen a lot of stuff coming out in defense of Twihards—I was really tempted to call’em something else there… I’ve never read the books and I’ve never seen the films (that’s my story and I’m sticking with it!), and from what I’ve heard of the story and the characters, I have no desire to. Still, I get the geek obsession that’s going along with this, so I can’t give them too much shit. After all, a lot of the stuff I’m into doesn’t make a whole lot of sense when you really break it down (Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, etc…). They do offer interesting worlds that I can take my mind to every now and then, and I imagine it’s the same for the Twilight fans… even though the story makes zero sense to me—like why would a vampire that’s more than a century old be interested in a sixteen year old girl? Fuck, I’m thirty-five and I can barely stand talking to the nineteen year old check out girl at the grocery store. And why the fuck would he want to keep going back to high school? Didn’t take enough shit the first time around? And glittering? Really?

Anyhow, I’m starting to rant there… So, I found an email this morning pointing me to this video about an anonymous group of dads who share their love for all things Twilight. It was written and directed by Ksenia Selemon (I don’t think you pronounce the “K” in that one). Check it out below and visit their Youtube channel. I’m off to find something that taste like bacon for breakfast… it’ll probably be bacon…

If Only They Made It Like This…

I’ll have to admit that I’m getting a little tired of the vampire stuff. However, If they had made those films more like this, I could see my self taking an interest.

Another Experiment in Posting

Twilight is Gay!

Well, if her ass says so, then who am I to argue?

I’m still teaching myself how to use the Word Press software. Right now I’m going over how to upload images. This is a picture I took last year at the San Diego Comic Con.
